Hot Springs Village Public Services will implement its new trash carts and side-loader trucks beginning Monday, January 31.
Your new trash pickup day of the week may be different from your old day. See the printable guide for more information.
If you have questions, please call Sanitation at 501-922-5524, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
Did you order a 96-gallon or a 64-gallon Trash Cart?
More Villagers than expected requested the smaller 64-gallon cart instead of the larger 96-gallon cart. Our initial shipment of carts does not have enough smaller carts to fulfill everyone’s request, so some residents who ordered a smaller cart will receive a larger one until more small carts become available.
The larger cart is only 10 pounds heavier and 2 inches wider than the smaller cart. As our carts are on wheels, the larger cart is only slightly more difficult to maneuver. You might decide you want to keep the larger cart. Just call Sanitation at 501-922-5524 and let us know if you want to keep the bigger cart.
Discarding Your Old Trash Cans
Our new trash collection system, utilizing the new trash carts, begins Monday, January 31. You will need to decide what to do with your old trash cans. Your current cans are your personal property. You may keep and repurpose them for storage, gardening, or however you wish. The POA sanitation team will not remove them from your property.
We will collect old trash cans at Balboa Beach from February 14-18. Bring us your clean, used trash cans and we’ll take care of them responsibly.
If you’d prefer to have someone pick up your cans from your home, you can call or text Chad Wright at 501-226-7127. Chad is not a POA employee, but he has offered to pick up cans for free.
We understand that some residents would like their trash cart picked up next to their house, instead of along the street. For these residents we offer at-house pickup. This service is $18.60 per month more than standard street-side pickup. We will reduce the at-house fee by $7.00 for those members providing a doctor's letter stating they are medically disabled, To start at-house pickup, print and fill out this application and waiver of liability and return it to the POA. You may mail, fax, email, or hand deliver your completed forms to the POA Administration Building at 895 DeSoto Blvd, from 8AM-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday. You may use the drop box in front of our building at any time.
