Lakes

Four of the 11 lakes at Hot Springs Village are perfect for all types of water recreation, allowing for fishing, swimming, and water sports. Lakes Balboa, Coronado, Cortez and DeSoto all have a boat ramp, picnic tables and grills.

At 944 acres, Lake Balboa is the largest lake in Hot Springs Village. The lake has a large sand beach with rentable shade shelters and a covered pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms, fireplace and grill. There is also a full-service marina offering boat and slip rentals.

Lake DeSoto also has a full-service marina, with uncovered slips available for both short and long term rental. The beach is pea gravel and has picnic tables and grills. Lake DeSoto is also great for kayaking, with several outlined trails.

Hot Springs Village also has seven smaller lakes: Estrella, Granada, Isabella, Maria, Pineda, Segovia, and Sophia. These lakes range from 11 to 62 acres in size and allow for fishing and swimming, but no water sports.

Fishing

Fishing is fantastic throughout Hot Springs Village. The lakes have been stocked with bass, catfish, sunfish, crappie, walleye and other species. The fish population is monitored by the Hot Springs Village POA Lakes Management department and additional stockings are scheduled as needed.

New to fishing? No problem. Our Outdoor Adventures team hosts fishing seminars to teach you the basics like rod and reel selection, fishing line, knot tying and rigging various baits. Fishing tournaments are popular with our more experienced anglers. Enter to win prizes and enjoy some lively competition!

In addition to local Hot Springs Village rules and regulations, all U.S. and Arkansas fishing and boating regulations apply to Village lakes. An Arkansas fishing license is required for anyone 16 years of age and older.
