Hot Springs, Arkansas, or “Spa City” as it is affectionately known, is the closest city, just 20 miles from Hot Springs Village. Here you will find a city steeped in history and beauty. Downtown Hot Springs is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is known for its art deco architecture, natural hot springs, horse racing and thriving arts community.
Popular attractions include Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, home to one of the top thoroughbred horse racetracks in the nation; Garvan Woodland Gardens, the largest botanical garden in Arkansas; and family favorites like Magic Springs Theme and Water Park and the Mid-America Science Museum.
Just 45 minutes from Hot Springs Village, Little Rock offers bigger city options for shopping, entertainment and employment, and it’s closer than you might think. With national museums, a symphony orchestra and a thriving arts and entertainment scene so close, it’s easy to drop in for an evening out.
Downtown Little Rock’s River Market District features restaurants, shops, bars, nightlife, museums and hotels as well as the area's main library. Popular attractions in the city include the Clinton Presidential Center & Park, the Little Rock Zoo, the Central Arkansas Nature Center, and the family-friendly Museum of Discovery.
North Little Rock
Across the Arkansas River from Little Rock, the city of North Little Rock provides year-round entertainment. Simmons Bank Arena hosts major entertainment and sporting events. Dickey-Stephens Park is the home of the Arkansas Travelers minor-league baseball team, and the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum features the USS Razorback submarine.
The Argenta Historic District is home to lots of fun restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. And if you love the movie “Gone With the Wind,” you’ll want to visit the Old Mill, which is featured in the opening scene of the 1939 classic.
Benton & Bryant
To the east of Hot Springs Village are the communities of Benton and Bryant. Both communities sit on Interstate 30 and are just a stone’s throw away from Little Rock. In Benton, the picturesque town square is the focal point of the community. The shopping and dining scenes in Benton and Bryant are booming with choices for everyone. Established and new retail stores and restaurants offer excellent choices and services.
Both Benton and Bryant provide antique seekers ample opportunity to search for treasures with several antique malls on both sides of Interstate 30. For the outdoor enthusiasts, the Saline River has excellent fishing, scenery and backcountry floating.
